Cluster munitions are non-discriminatory weapons, by nature, and unimaginable harm to civilian life. The use of such weapons is prohibited under customary international humanitarian law under all circumstances.
“The Saudi-led coalition is trying in vain to justify its use of cluster munitions by claiming that this is in line with international law, despite concrete evidence of the humanitarian cost among civilians caught in the conflict,” said Lynn Maalouf, director of research at the Amnesty International regional office in Beirut.
